MEET STEVEN LEE

Steven Lee is a community advocate, business owner, former elected official, Prince Hall Mason, Shriner, Independent Order of Oddfellows, father of four, and a proud Grandfather of 10.

For the last Twenty-Five years Mr. Lee has served the community as Executive Director of Unity Network and Counseling Center, where he connected neighborhood leaders with local, state and federal government officials, enabling him to develop resources and effectively advocate on behalf of the community.

Steven has demonstrated a strong and principled leadership style, with a focus on community oriented initiatives, including a school for special needs children, a merchant association and other nonprofits. Steven Lee is passionate about serving his community and has done so as a mentor, youth counselor, community volunteer and business owner.

Mr. Lee’s community service experience includes serving as the past President of the Board of Directors of People TV, President of the Martin Luther King Merchant Association, Member of the Fulton County Juvenile Court Community Restoration Justice Board, Director of the In the Zone After School Program, Member of the Zoning Review Board for the City of Atlanta, Hollowell/ML King TAD Advisory Committee Member, Youth fest Board Member and Director of the A Guiding Hand Mentoring Program.

STATE DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE

"The duties of a representative are clear:

Listen to concerns of constituents, reduce challenges through legislative action, and find resources to support district success. Together with other state representatives, I will work to find practical solutions that will support district 60 and complement the other districts in the state."

"As an industrious representative I will pursue resources from various agencies to guarantee success in the district. One such resource is the Georgia Budget, a fund that supports construction, rehabilitation and expansion of community-oriented projects."

"As a visible representative , I will be seen making appearances at local events, thereby making connections with constituents.

As an engaged representative, I will attend public functions such as school-board meetings, community and neighborhood meetings, and business association meetings; listening to the needs of the people and offering possible solutions from the state."

"As an accessible representative I will be available for questions, have materials on legislation, and answers constituents' questions in a timely manner. The perfect example of an accessible representative would be one who educates through town-hall meetings, bringing state government to the district level. Representatives should know their districts well - know what keeps constituents awake at night, what services are needed and how to help residents thrive."
